The former World No. 3 Stan Wawrinka, winner of three Grand Slam, will participate in the ATP 250 AnyTech365 Andalucía Open 2021, which will take place from April 4th to April 11th in the Puente Romano Beach Resort in Marbella.
With 35 years old, he has achieved practically every possible milestone in professional tennis. Besides the 3 major (Australian Open 2014, Roland Garros 2015 and US Open 2016), we must add 16 ATP titles and an Olympic gold in Beijing with his compatriot Roger Federer in the men's doubles category.
"I am very happy to be able to participate in the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open. It is great news that with the current situation, new tournaments can succeed and if it is in a place like Marbella even better, the conditions will be ideal to prepare for the European clay court season."
The Swiss reached his best position in the world ranking in 2014 with the position number 3, closing three consecutive years in the Top-4 between 2014 and 2016.
In his almost 20 years of professional career he has achieved more than 500 victories, standing out as the only player to beat the Big 4 (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Murray) both in Grand Slam and on clay, a surface that he considers his favorite and on the one that will be played in the Marbella tournament.
