Pablo Carreño and Jaume Munar are the finalists of the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open. The match will determine the first tournament champion and the first Spanish winner this season on the ATP Tour. Carreño, 1st Top Seed, will try to add a new tittle (4); Munar will try to win his first ATP 250 instead.
The day had to start later than scheduled due to the rain. The first semi-final finally began at 2 o’clock: Pablo Carreño Busta (1) versus Albert Ramos Viñolas (4). The 1st Top Seed took the first set 6-1. Then, Ramos reacted; 6-3 in the second set.
The final set started good for Ramos, one break up; but Carreño got 5-5. In the final tiebreak, the former No. 10 FedEx ATP Rankings showed his best level and won the match. Carreño will will try this Sunday the fifth trophy of his record.
His opponent will be Jaume Munar who managed to beat the 17-year-old Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 (4); 6-4. A match where both tennis players showed a great level, but Munar's greater experience was the key in the final moments.
Munar is in his first final on the ATP Tour. He is 12-2 overall in Marbella over last 6 months, finishing as 2020 and 2021 Marbella Challenger runner-up.
The doubles title of the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open will be for Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar or Tomislav Brkic and Nikola Cacic. The first two got their ticket this Saturday beating Hugo Nys and Tim Puetz 6-4 and 7-6 (1).
The team will try to rise the second trophy this season, after Delray Beach.
The last day of the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open will start at 12pm on Manolo Santana court. The first match, doubles final. Right after, singles final will take place (not before 2pm).
