International women's tennis returns to Andalucía with a professional WTA 125 tournament, which will be held from March 28th to April 3rd, 2022 at the Puente Romano Beach Resort in Marbella. The women's WTA 125 tournament will be held simultaneously with the already announced ATP Challenger 125, thus making the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open the second most important combined tennis event in Spain after Madrid.
The number of players that will contest the singles draw of the tournament will be 32, while in the doubles draw there will be 8 teams that will fight for this first women's edition of the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open.
The singles competition will begin on Monday, March 28 (which will not have a qualification draw in this edition). The doubles final will take place on Saturday, April 2, coinciding with both singles semifinals, and the singles grand final is on Sunday, April 3.
As in the ATP Challenger tournament, the participating players will not be known until the Entry Deadline, which will take place four weeks prior the start of the competition. However, it should be noted that thanks to the tournament's situation within the calendar coinciding with the second week of the Miami Masters 1000, the organization is given the possibility of having 4 wild cards for players between 11th and 50th place in the WTA ranking, which will undoubtedly increase the level of the competition even more.
With the incorporation of the WTA 125 tournament, the AnyTech365 Andalucía Open 2022 will increase its competition courts up to 5 simultaneously, being able to enjoy exciting days with up to 22 professional tennis matches in a single day.
The tickets price starts from 20 euros and they are already available in the official website (www.andaluciaopen.com).
